Yes, yet again I’m going to try an untested widget on my blog as I’ve done before. I spotted this post on Shoemoney today. This has always been a concept I’m interested in but it never seems to work (blogrush, bla.st, etc). I put it up about an hour ago and low and behold, I have my first advertiser already. The affiliate marketing blog (how’s that for a first advertiser bonus!) Building My Empire thinks they will get some traffic from my blog…probably like 3 people but a page view is a page view. In return I get credits put in my account that I can use to advertise on other blogs. You can read about the service more in detail over at Shoemoney. Let’s see how long this one lasts. Anyone taking bets?
On a side note, the Building My Empire blog should make a better looking graphic. The generic one kinda blows. I think the edit profile has a glitch in it (at least it does on my end) that won’t allow you to change your ad or something. That could be the issue.

Yes, another widget that tracks your movement from site to site. 2007 blog scene, specially the ones that talk about making money, resembles 1998’s porn site scene. However, this time we have ajax, widgets, and videos. Large sites promote traffic exchange methods and all the smaller ones fall for it but eventually it only benefits larger sites without any effort and a few smaller sites that put a lot of efforts. Wonderful system. History repeats itslef.
You’re right on the money. I just hope one of these days something actually works for more than a week. Will this be the one? Probably not but you never know and I’m always a sucker for the new stuff.

Heh… thanks for the link love, and yes I have to work on a better image. I’m not sure how well it’s worked out for you, but I’ve managed to get a few eyeballs on the site - maybe because my “card” is that unattractive
I’m not really sure how long this sort of thing will last - but it was easy to add to the site, I see it as a way to advertise for nothing… and I get to check out sites I would never have come across otherwise, which is kind of cool.
Agreed, I’ve got a few more eyes from it I think. Jumping in early has it’s benefits as well and since it’s free there’s no harm in it. My subscriber count even jumped a bit so all in all it’s a success so far!
The only glitch I’ve hit so far was Shoemoney denied my ad on his site…I guess it’s not relevant? errr, or something.
PS: No offense about the card, that was more of a diss to entrecard for making crappy defaults. Your site looks great!

Got my first “denied” one as well… lol. I have yet to even get a chance to advertise on ShoeMoney, that would be quite a score if one of us were able too do that.
